We always try to make new chicken recipes in home. Then try this delicious Restaurant Style Chicken Sukka recipe which is very simple and easy to cook at home. This is a ultimate south Indian style dish and absolutely delectable dish which is a must try one. For this chicken sukka recipe we are going to make the fresh home made masala paste.

Chicken Sukka Ingredients

  • Coconut Oil – 2 Tbsp
  • Cardamom Pods – 2 Nos
  • Onion – 2 Nos Chopped
  • Green Chili – 3 Nos Slit
  • Curry Leaves
  • Chicken – 1 Kg
  • Water – 1/2 Cup
  • Salt – 1 Tsp
  • Curry Leaves

To Make Masala Paste

  • Coriander Seeds – 1 Tbsp
  • Cumin Seeds – 1 Tsp
  • Fennel Seeds – 1 Tsp
  • Pepper – 1 Tsp
  • Cinnamon
  • Clove
  • Red Chilli – 8 Nos
  • Oil – 2 Tsp
  • Onion – 2 Nos Chopped
  • Garlic & Ginger
  • Tamarind
  • Grated Coconut – 2 Tbsp
  • Turmeric Powder – 1/4 Tsp
  • Rock Salt – 1/2 Tsp
  • Water

Method

  • Dry roast coriander seeds, cumin seeds, fennel seeds, whole peppercorns, cinnamon and cloves. Saute everything and dry-roast the red chillies together with it.
  • Once the dry spices color is changed, turn off the stove and and cool them.
  • Next Saute the other ingredients for the masala paste. Take a kadai add few oil to it, to that add onions, ginger, and garlic; fry a little.
  • Once the onions are transparent add a small ball of tamarind. Saute everything.
  • Next add fresh grated coconut. Fry till ingredients are golden-brown.
  • Once done turn off the stove and cool the mixture.
  • Initially let us grind the dry-roasted ingredients. Later add the fried ingredients.
  • To the same jar add turmeric powder, rock salt and grind all of it. Add some water while grinding. Grind to a nice smooth paste.
  • To the same Kadai take two table spoon of coconut oil, to that add Cardamom Pods, finely chopped onions, green chilli slit, few curry leaves.
  • Saute till the onions have turned to nice brown colour.
  • Once the onion is cooked add the chicken pieces. Mix them together.
  • Let the chicken cook for about 5 mins, till its no more pink. After 5 minutes, add the ground masala paste and half of water to the mixer jar and clean out all the masala.
  • Make sure the chicken is coated well in the masala. To this add one tablespoon of salt.
  • The chicken as to cook in the masala. Close the lid and cook the chicken for about 20 minutes. Continue to cook until the excess moisture is evaporated .
  • Once the masala is reduced and dried out at this point turn off the stove. Garnish it with few curry leaves.
  • The irresistible chicken sukka recipe is ready to be served as it is. This goes perfect with nice sambar and rasam as well.
